Air Force Day: On Air Force Day, the Air Force Chief has assured the countrymen that outside forces will not be allowed to infiltrate the country's borders. The Air Chief Marshal said that just as the Air Force had shown its preparedness during the confrontation with China in Eastern Ladakh, in the same way, it has to be always alert.
Chief of the Air Staff, VR Choudhary was addressing air-warriors during Air Force Day at Hindon Air Base (Ghaziabad) near capital Delhi on Friday. During this, he said that we (Air Force) have to show that no 'external force' will be allowed to 'encroach' on our borders. This statement of the Air Force Chief came at a time when it was reported on Friday itself that there was a 'faceoff' of the Indian Army with about 200 Chinese soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh. This faceoff i.e. deadlock took place in the Yangtse sector of Arunachal Pradesh last week. However, the standoff ended after a flag meeting between the military commanders of the two countries.
During this, VR Chaudhary himself said that the kind of security-perspective these days, he has commanded the Air Force in a critical period. Earlier, the IAF chief awarded the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Commendation for outstanding services to three Air Force units along the LAC adjoining eastern Ladakh last year after the Balakot airstrikes and the situation on the Pakistan border. These include 47 squadrons of MiG-29 upgrades for day-night combat air patrolling on the LAC, 116 units of indigenous attack helicopter Rudra, and 225 squadrons of Osa missiles.
