Once again, Chinese civilians have been attacked in Pakistan. According to Pakistani media reports, four people, including Chinese nationals, were killed in an explosion near a van near the Confucius Institute at Karachi University of Sindh. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
According to reports, the Chinese nationals targeted were Chinese language teachers and were guarded by Rangers personnel. These rangers were on motorcycles escorting the vans while protecting Chinese teachers. Officials have not yet commented on the blast, although Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah has taken cognizance of the incident.

At the time, Zhao Lijian, deputy chief of mission at the Chinese embassy in Pakistan, praised the Pakistani military and police for "timely and appropriate action" in response to the attack.

After the attack, China had said that it was demanded from Pakistan to provide proper treatment to the injured, conduct a thorough investigation into the attack and give strict punishment to the perpetrators.
