
A new government has been formed in Bihar. Nitish Kumar and his cabinet colleagues took the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were also present.
All but one member of the newly formed Council of Ministers holds degrees ranging from 12th to engineering. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar holds an engineering degree from Bihar College of Engineering (now NIT Patna).
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha holds a diploma in civil engineering from Begusarai Polytechnic College, while Deepak Prakash holds a B.Tech in computer science from Manipal University. Only Minister Narayan Prasad is a matriculate.
Four Ministers with PhDs
In the newly formed Council of Ministers, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary holds an honorary doctorate. Four ministers have earned PhDs in higher education. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal holds a PhD from BNM University, Madhepura. Ashok Choudhary, Santosh Kumar Suman, and Dr Pramod Kumar also hold PhDs.
Four ministers have postgraduate degrees, while seven have graduate education.
The cabinet includes four ministers with postgraduate qualifications and seven with graduate education. The ministers with postgraduate education include Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Sunil Kumar, Arun Shankar Prasad, and Shreyasi Singh.
The ministers with graduate education include Mangal Pandey, Madan Sahni, Ramkripal Yadav, Sanjay Singh Tiger, Lakhendra Kumar Roshan, and Sanjay Kumar.
These six have previously served as ministers.
Seven ministers in the state cabinet have studied up to the 12th grade. These include Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Shravan Kumar, Leshi Singh, Nitin Naveen, Jama Khan, Surendra Mehta, and Rama Nishad. Of these, Rama Nishad became a first-time MLA and was also appointed a minister, while the remaining six ministers have previously served in the state government.
