Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra's film Amar Singh Chamkila was released a few days ago. The film has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences, but perhaps Amar Singh Chamkila's daughter did not like the film much because she has expressed displeasure about Imtiaz Ali.
Amar Singh Chamkila's elder daughter, from his first wife, was just 5 years old when the singer was murdered. He said that a lot of information was given to Imtiaz Ali for the film, but he showed incomplete truth.
Amar Singh Chamkila's daughter's allegations
Amar Singh Chamkila's daughter Amandeep revealed in an interview that her family had given a lot of information to the director but only some of it was shown in the film. Amandeep, in a conversation with the YouTube channel Switch, said that his mother and Amar Singh Chamkila's first wife Gurmail Kaur were also not given a place in the film. Justice was not done to his character. Whereas after the murder it was he who performed the last rites of Amar Singh Chamkila. Apart from this, she also fought a long legal battle with her second wife's family for her husband's property after his passing.
Amandeep's family faced discrimination
Amandeep said that Imtiaz Ali showed the real picture of the funeral in Amar Singh Chamkila, but he did not show his mother's character well. He said that everyone from the family of Amarjot (Amar Singh Chamkila's second wife) was shown but many people from his family were not shown. Even after the meeting, Imtiaz Ali did not include the pictures of Amar Singh Chamkila's daughters in the closing credits. Amandeep also said that they all are angry with Imtiaz Ali.
