New Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS) BJP president Amit Shah Monday met party leaders from Jammu and Kashmir and discussed the nitty gritty of government formation in the state.
"Inputs from the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party were taken in the meeting," party general secretary Ram Madhav told reporters.
He said the BJP leaders suggested that talks with the Peoples Democratic Party, the single largest party in the state, should be taken forward.
The BJP, with 25 seats all from the Jammu region, captured the second place in the assembly elections, while the PDP emerged as the largest party with 28 seats, all from the Kashmir Valley.
Other two players - the National Conference (15 seats) and the Congress (12 seats) were in third and fourth positions, respectively.
