
Targeted Killing In Jammu Kashmir: A high-level meeting was held in Delhi between Targeted Killing in Jammu and Kashmir. In this meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, NSA Ajit Doval, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, DG CRPF Kuldeep Singh, Border Security Force chief Pankaj Singh, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh and other key officers were present.
According to sources, in the meeting, Amit Shah said that strict arrangements should be made for Kashmiri or non-Kashmiri security. The intelligence and security coverage at the local level should be further increased. Such areas in Kashmir should be identified where such incidents can happen. People spreading terror should be dealt with strictly and should not be spared at any cost. The Home Minister was told during the meeting that the Anti Terrorism Grid is fully active in this entire matter.
In recent days, it has been seen that terrorists in Kashmir are targeting civilians and government employees. On Thursday itself, terrorists carried out two incidents in the valley. Terrorists shot two laborers in Budgam district. A laborer died in this attack. Earlier in the day, terrorists killed a bank worker in the valley.
Attack on non-local workers
Officials said that the terrorists opened fire on two non-local laborers working at a brick kiln located in Chadoora area of central Kashmir district. He said that this incident happened at around 9.10 pm.
Officials said that Dilkush Kumar and Guri were injured in the attack. Guri was discharged from the hospital after treatment, while 17-year-old Dilkush succumbed to his injuries at SMHS hospital, they said. Officials said that Dilkush Kumar was a resident of Bihar.
Shah's meeting was also held yesterday
Amidst these incidents, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also called a meeting on Thursday in which top officials including National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval participated. Official sources said Doval and intelligence agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) chief Samant Goel held talks with Amit Shah at his North Block office for about an hour later in the afternoon.
Since May 1, there have been 9 cases of targeted killings in the Kashmir Valley. A teacher hailing from Samba district of Jammu region was killed by terrorists in Kashmir's Kulgam on Tuesday.
At the same time, on May 18, terrorists entered a liquor shop in Baramulla in North Kashmir and hurled a grenade, killing a Jammu resident and injuring three others.
In the Valley, police personnel Saifullah Qadri was shot dead by terrorists in front of his residence in Srinagar on May 24, while TV actor Amrin Bhat was killed by terrorists in Budgam two days later.
