The Supreme Court has constituted a committee of three women High Court judges to monitor the relief, rehabilitation, and compensation of the victims of violence in Manipur. This committee will assess the conditions there and submit the report directly to the Supreme Court. The apex court will also monitor the overall situation.

A bench comprising CJI Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Justice Manoj Mishra said, the apex court endeavors to restore the sense of faith in the rule of law in the state. The news of the border state plunging into chaos, of more and more casualties and arson and mayhem, is appalling. The bench termed the video of women being paraded without clothe as extremely disturbing. During the hearing, Manipur Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi and DPP Rajeev Singh presented details of the FIRs filed in the state following the Supreme Court's direction.
