Barinder Singh, in his complaint, had told the police that Amritpal Singh's associates had abducted him from Ajnala and taken him to an undisclosed location where he was mercilessly thrashed.
On the complaint, the police registered a case against Amritpal Singh and his supporters. In this case, the police interrogated Amritpal's close friend Lovepreet Toofan in custody, but on February 23, Amritpal reached Ajnala police station with his supporters.
