Another blast of Amazon Prime in June with 'The Family Man 2', Vidya Balan's film to be released

Streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has made full arrangements for the blast in the summer of June. The buzz has already begun regarding the release of the highly popular series The Family Man 2 in June, now Vidya Balan's film Lioness has also been announced for release in June. However, the date is still pending. This will be Vidya's second film, which will be released directly on the OTT platform.

The lioness is directed by Amit Masurkar. The film stars Vidya with Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chadha, Vijay Raj, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, and Neeraj Kabi playing the lead characters. Vidya plays the role of a forest officer in the film. The shooting of the lioness is based on an existential conflict between humans and animals. It has been shot in the jungles of Madhya Pradesh.

The shooting was postponed due to the lockdown in March last year, which resumed after the lockdown opened in October. This is Vidya's second film on Amazon Prime. Earlier last year, Shakuntala Devi released on Amazon, which was released directly on the OTT platform rather than in theaters due to the lockdown.

Then Vidya said in a conversation with Jagran.com that the release of films on the digital platform also does not reduce the pressure. The same nervousness and excitement feel occur in theatrical releases. The box office tells how many people went to see the film, how many people liked it. The eagerness to know the same reaction also rests on the OTT. Yes, box office figures are not tense, but there is an eagerness to know the reaction.

Let me tell you, the shooting of the lioness was also interrupted for some time when actor Vijay Raj was accused of molesting during the shooting. Vijay Raj was arrested on 4 November by the Gondia Police of Maharashtra on charges of molestation. Vijay was arrested by the police from a 5-star hotel, although he was granted bail by a local court shortly afterward.
