Vidya plays the role of a forest officer in the film. The shooting of the lioness is based on an existential conflict between humans and animals. It has been shot in the jungles of Madhya Pradesh.
The shooting was postponed due to the lockdown in March last year, which resumed after the lockdown opened in October. This is Vidya's second film on Amazon Prime. Earlier last year, Shakuntala Devi released on Amazon, which was released directly on the OTT platform rather than in theaters due to the lockdown.
