The Special Cell suspects that this phone was used to operate recently used telegram channels used to claim responsibility for terrorist incidents and threats.
The Special Cell said that further investigation and forensic analysis would be done after the details of the mobile phone and the seized items were received from the Tihar Jail authorities.
At the same time, after the information about the mobile phone was found in the barrack of Tihar Jail, Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain has ordered the Director-General of Jail to investigate the matter. Jain admitted that this was a breach of security and strict action would be taken against those found guilty in the investigation.
