Armed forces get exemption on LAC

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday asked the country's top military leadership to be 'fully prepared' to take an unprecedented action on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China. Sources said that the government has asked the army to adopt a different strategic strategy to protect the LAC along China border. Ever since 20 Indian Army personnel were killed in violent skirmishes with Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley of eastern Ladakh on 15 June, India has sent its fighters there and thousands of additional military forces have been sent to the border with China. Has been sent to the side. In Sunday's meeting, sources said, the defense minister instructed top military officials to keep a close watch on China's movements along the ground, airspace, and strategic sea lanes. After the Galvan Valley incident, military sources said that Indian soldiers would no longer be bound by the long-standing ban on the use of weapons in a conflict situation. Sources said that a 'strict' approach is now being adopted to protect the border.

In an all-party meeting on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said that the armed forces have been given the freedom to take all necessary steps. 76 Indian soldiers were also injured in the clashes on 15 June and 10 soldiers were held captive, which were later released by the Chinese.

During this meeting, when it was revealed that Indian soldiers did not use weapons, the opposition also criticized the government. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar then stated that Indian soldiers had weapons but they followed the rules of not using weapons during the skirmish as per the 1996 and 2005 agreements. Sources indicated that this approach has changed now. Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff General MM Narwane, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal R KS Bhadauria were also present in this meeting with the Defense Minister.

On Saturday, Air Force Chief Bhadoria said that the Indian Air Force is monitoring China's air activity in Tibet and combat air patrols have also been dispatched to several places in Ladakh following reports of Chinese incursions. On Saturday, the Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday rejected China's claim that the region falls in favor of the LAC in China, on the question of whether the government has abandoned India's claims on the Galvan Valley.

In this meeting, the Defense Minister also discussed some important defense deals which are expected to be signed during the visit to Russia. Singh held the meeting ahead of his June 24 visit to Russia. Rajnath Singh is going to take part in the Victory Day military parade being held in Moscow on the 75th anniversary of Russia's victory in World War II. A 75-member Indian Army contingent of the tri-service has also already arrived in Moscow to participate in the parade.

However, China is yet to reveal its soldiers killed in the June 15 conflict. But Union Minister and former Army Chief General VK Singh (retd) told a television channel on Saturday that the number of Chinese soldiers killed in the conflict in the Galvan Valley is more than 40. He said, 'If we lost 20 of our soldiers, double the number of soldiers were killed on their behalf. China hides the figures. Even in the war of 1962, it did not accept the number of casualties. Meanwhile, the Congress is constantly asking the government questions on the Galvan Valley incident. Taking a dig at the Prime Minister, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted that Narendra Modi is indeed 'Surrender Modi'. However, he was also mocked for surrendering. The former Congress president referred to an article published in Japan Times written by defense expert Brahma Chellaney, claiming that India's 'policy of appeasement' failed to prevent China from adopting an aggressive attitude towards India.

Congress Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal asked the government five questions regarding the Galvan Valley attack, including the statement made by the Prime Minister on Friday that neither our border nor any of our posts were occupied. He said pictures of security experts, the army chief, and the satellite show that Pangong Tso Lake has about eight kilometers of Chinese penetration, including more than 60 permanent constructions including bunkers and boat pads and up to Finger 4. Sibal asked why the government was shamelessly rejecting China's encroachment.

In another development related to this, sources said that the Ministry of Defense has increased the economic right given to the three army chiefs to purchase ammunition and weapons to Rs 500 crore. (Together agencies)

Situation on China-India border 'very serious'

US President Donald Trump said that during a "very serious" standoff at the India-China border, his administration is talking to both countries to "help them" to end the ongoing tension between the two countries. Trump's statement comes amidst the martyrdom of 20 military personnel of India and heightened tension between the two countries in a violent clash between soldiers on both sides following the Chinese army's incursion into the Galwan Valley of Ladakh earlier this week. According to US intelligence sources, more than 35 Chinese soldiers have been killed in the clash.

Trump said at the White House, 'There are very difficult situations. We are talking to India. We are also talking to China. There is a big problem with them. When asked about Trump's assessment of the situation between India and China, he said, "There is a confrontation between them." Let's see what happens. We will try to help them. ' For the past few days, the entire Trump administration has stood in favor of India in the case of illegal intrusion of the Chinese army into Indian territory on LAC in eastern Ladakh.

The US has accused China of increasing tensions at the border with its neighbors, including India. He said that China wants to take advantage of the difficulty of countries fighting the global epidemic. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said a day ago, 'The PLA has escalated tensions along the border with India, the largest democratic country, militarizing the South China Sea and illegally asserting its claim over the territory there Has been doing.'
