Asia Cup: Good news for the fans of Team India! Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah may return from Asia Cup

Pakistan is hosting the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup. He will organize this tournament under the hybrid model. Pakistan will co-host the Asia Cup with Sri Lanka. Four matches will be played here. At the same time, nine matches will be held in Sri Lanka. As soon as the matter of hosting became clear, good news came to the fore for Indian cricket fans. Team India's two-star players will return soon.

 

Veteran fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and young batsman Shreyas Iyer have been out for a long time due to injuries. It is expected that both the players can make a comeback from the Asia Cup. According to ESPN Cricinfo, Bumrah and Iyer want to come back to Team India from this tournament. For this both the players are working hard.

 

Bumrah is out for eight-nine months

Bumrah is out of the team since September 2022 due to a back injury. Due to this, he could not even play T20 World Cup in Australia. He has been out for the last eight to nine months due to a back injury. In April, Bumrah had undergone lower back surgery in New Zealand. The medical procedure was successful and helped Bumrah to be pain-free. He could not play in the 16th season of IPL.

 

Iyer was troubled by a back problem

Coming to Iyer, he decided to undergo back surgery in April for his recurring lower back injury. He was constantly troubled by a bulging disc in his lower back. Due to this, he had to leave the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ahmedabad midway in March. He then had surgery in London in May. Iyer was advised bed rest and his rehabilitation is underway.

 

Bumrah and Iyer are in NCA

According to ESPN Cricinfo, both Bumrah and Shreyas players are now in NCA for recovery. The NCA medical staff is optimistic about both players being available for the Asia Cup in September. Bumrah is understood to be mainly undergoing physiotherapy but has also started bowling. At the same time, Shreyas is now undergoing physiotherapy.
