Arvind Kejriwal Bail: Will CM Arvind Kejriwal get bail or not? Delhi High Court will give its decision today

The Delhi High Court will pronounce its verdict on Kejriwal's plea seeking a stay on the trial court's order granting him bail at 2:30 pm on Tuesday. On Monday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) told the court that the trial court's order was faulty and Kejriwal should not get relief.

Kejriwal was granted bail by the lower court on June 20. On June 21, the Enforcement Directorate moved the Delhi High Court challenging the Chief Minister's bail. Meanwhile, the central probe agency filed an urgent application to stay the lower court's order.

Vacation judge Justice Jain on Friday heard the Enforcement Directorate's plea and while reserving the verdict on the stay application, the court ordered that the impugned order will remain stayed till the order is announced. After this, Kejriwal moved to the Supreme Court challenging the stay granted by the High Court.

Kejriwal did not get relief from the Supreme Court in the liquor scam

Kejriwal did not get relief from the Supreme Court in the money laundering case related to the liquor scam. The apex court refused to interfere with the High Court's June 21 order of interim stay on the bail granted to Kejriwal by the trial court.

Hearing Kejriwal's plea, the vacation bench of Justice Manoj Mishra and Justice SVN Bhatti said, it would not be appropriate to decide the matter in advance. However, the bench said that the High Court's order is unusual. Usually, the stay order is given on the date of the hearing itself. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for the Enforcement Directorate, argued that the High Court could pronounce the order on Tuesday. On this, the court gave the date of June 26.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21. In May, the Supreme Court granted him interim bail till June 01 given the general elections. He surrendered on June 2.
