Assam is becoming a hotbed of jihadi activities. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that in the last five months, five jihadi modules have been uncovered and many have been arrested. These include Burpeta Module, ABT Module-2, ABT Module-3, ABT Module-4, and ABT Module. It is clear from these claims of the government that jihadi modules are spreading rapidly in the state. This can prove to be a major threat to national security. These modules have been disclosed in collaboration with Assam Police and NIA.

The madrassa in Assam's Morigaon district, from where its chief Mufti Mustafa was arrested for alleged links with Bangladesh-based terror outfit Ansarul Islam, was demolished on Thursday. According to the police, Jamatul Madrasa in Moirabari, which was recently sealed after the arrest of Mufti Mustafa, was bulldozed this morning.
Giving information in this regard, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa said, since March this year, five terror modules have been busted in Assam, of which the Morigaon module is one, in which two people including Mustafa were arrested. The madrassa was demolished under the Disaster Management Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, he said. Permission was not taken from the district administration or the local panchayat in making it. Also, the electricity connection of the madrasa was found to be illegal and hence the Deputy Commissioner ordered the demolition after completing all the legal formalities.
