The CBI has arrested four people, including the DGM of an Odisha-based company, in a bribery case. These include a senior engineer of Paradip Port Trust.
The case is related to the corruption of the officials of Paradip Port Trust. It is alleged that Saroj Kumar Das, Chief Mechanical Engineer of Paradip Port Trust, had sought a bribe of Rs 60 lakh from Odisha Stevedores Limited through Sumant Raut.
The CBI team has arrested Raut Das, a private person Shankh Subhra Mitra and Surya Narayan Sahu, DGM of Odisha Stevedores Limited red handed. This action was taken at a time when Rs 25 lakh as a bribe was being given. During the raid, the CBI recovered Rs 85.5 lakh in cash.
