Flood waters are receding in various parts, but about 5.98 lakh people in 18 districts - Cachar, Nalbari, Kamrup, Golaghat, Morigaon, Chirang, Dibrugarh, Dhubri, Goalpara, Nagaon, Karimganj, Kamrup (M), Dhemaji, Majuli, Darang, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Vishwanath are still affected by the floods.
1342 villages are still submerged
According to the ASDMA flood report, 1342 villages under 52 revenue circles are still submerged and 25367.61 hectares of crop area have been submerged in flood waters. The water level of the Brahmaputra River is flowing above the danger mark in Nematighat, Tezpur, and Dhubri. More than 58,000 people are still taking shelter in 172 relief camps and distribution centers in 13 districts. 283712 pets have also been affected by the floods.
