Prices increased so much in March-April
While the prices of petrol and diesel have remained stable across the country, on the other hand, the rise in the prices of Air Turbine Fuel ATF is not taking its name. According to Indian Oil Corporation, the price of jet fuel has been increased by Rs 6,188 per kiloliter on Monday. The new rates will be applicable from 31 May 2022. It is worth noting that earlier the price of jet fuel increased by 18.3 percent in March and by 2 percent in April.

After this latest hike, the new ATF price in Delhi has increased from Rs 1,16,852 per kiloliter to Rs 123039.71 per kiloliter. At the same time, it has reached Rs 121847.11 per kiloliter in Mumbai, Rs 127854.60 per kiloliter in Kolkata, and Rs 127286.13 per kiloliter in Chennai. There has been a major hike in the price of Jet Fuel since the beginning of this year. According to the report, its price has increased by 61.7 percent since January 2022.
Revision happens twice a month
On January 1, 2022, its price was Rs 76,062 per kiloliter, which has increased to Rs 46,938 per kiloliter so far. Let us inform you here that the revision of the prices of aircraft fuel is done twice a month on the 1st and 16th. Jet fuel accounts for 40 percent of the operating cost of any airline. The increase in the price of crude oil at the international level also affects its price. In such a situation, due to the continuous increase, there is every possibility of air travel becoming expensive.
