
Kolkata: Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar held a press conference on the incident of attack on BJP National President JP Nadda's convoy. Jagdeep Dhankar has questioned the police and administration of Bengal. He said, law and order in Bengal is very bad. There were no adequate security arrangements for JP Nadda. On the law and order situation, summons has been sent to the state DGP and the Chief Secretary.
Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar said, 'It is my responsibility to protect the Constitution. It is my responsibility to protect people. Mamta government will have to follow the constitution. What is happening in Bengal is not going well. Yesterday's attack is very embarrassing for democracy. Constitutional limitations are being broken in Bengal. Mamta Banerjee will have to apologize for tomorrow's incident.
Jagdeep Dhankhar said, "Madam India is one, the soul and citizenship of India is one. This is a dangerous game of who is the outsider and who is inside, you should discard it. You have sworn to work under the Constitution.
Condemn attack on JP Nadda's convoy
On the Mamta government, the Bengal governor said, 'The incident that happened yesterday is very unfortunate, they are a blot on our democratic fabric. He embarrassed the world's largest democracy. Take care of the soul of the constitution. If you deviate from this path, then my responsibility begins. I summoned the DGP, Chief Secretary of the state regarding yesterday's incident. The chief secretary told me that he has alerted the DGP about the political visit.
Jagdeep Dhankhar also expressed grief to the DGP, Chief Secretary on the incident of the attack on Nadda's convoy. He said, 'DGP, Chief Secretary has no input, whereas I ordered them in writing. The states are becoming very bad. Corruption is going on here. Government machinery has become a political system. The situation in Bengal is such that there is no place for any opposition. No opposition leader is safe. There are no rights left for them.
JP Nadda's convoy was attacked
JP Nadda's convoy was attacked on Thursday morning when he was going to Diamond Harbor to attend a meeting of party workers. During this, many leaders including BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya were injured. Nadda, who was in a bulletproof car, however, did not suffer any damage. Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha constituency is represented by Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Mamata Banerjee.
Demonstrations at many places in Bengal
BJP workers demonstrated in various cities and districts of West Bengal on Thursday to protest against the attack on JP Nadda's convoy in the North 24 Parganas district. Demonstrations were held at SC Malik Road, Esplanade area, Keshtopur, and Chingarighata near Jadavpur police station. BJP workers raised slogans against the 'deteriorating law and order' situation in the state.
