The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has to host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India and the board is fully prepared for this. The ten-team tournament will begin in October and will go on till November. This will be the first time that the Cricket World Cup will be held entirely in India. India jointly hosted in 1987, 1996, and 2011 along with Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

The ICC Cricket World Cup was originally scheduled to be played from 9 February to 26 March 2023, but in July 2020, the ICC announced that the tournament would be held in the October–November window due to the COVID-19 pandemic, disrupting the qualifiers. Had gone. Apart from this, the ICC was to organize the T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November 2022.

The BCCI will have a great opportunity to improve the already existing cricket infrastructure in the country, which got a boost when the country hosted the 2011 edition. India has also hosted the T20 World Cup in 2016. However, the venues are yet to be finalized and BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal said that fans will experience world-class facilities at multiple venues.

In a conversation with veteran sports journalist Vimal Kumar, BCCI treasurer said, "Yes, we have some challenges here in India. We are not able to plan in such a way that we make the schedule a year in advance. As in Australia and England. Because sometimes we have to move from one state to another at the last minute due to weather."

He continued, “Sometimes these challenges persist. So, we are trying to overcome those challenges. And the experience that fans are seeking, whether on land or TV, is now our top priority. The priority is. We are trying that next World Cup, we will make sure that the fans have an incredible experience. I want to assure you that you will feel the difference in October and November next year."
