The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused its players to play in the Big Bash League (BBL) season to be held in Australia. Players need NOC from their board to participate in BBL and PCB has refused NOC whether they are contracted players or not. The board has also not clarified the availability of players for the new tournament ILT20 to be held in the UAE next year.
The main reason for this decision is understood to be the busy schedule at the domestic and international levels in the coming time. However, in such a situation it is not clear why players without contracts are being banned. There was no Pakistani name in the list of the initial 98 foreign players to be picked in the BBL draft but it was understood that they would be included before the deadline.
No player has been formally named in ILT20 so far, but the names of many top Pakistani players have been linked to the deals of this league. This is not the first time that players and the board have disagreed on joining the league. In November of 2019, the strike of the players had come. For some time the PCB maintained an informal PSL plus one rule agreement with players for participation in foreign leagues.
