The border dispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra is getting bigger. Vehicles are being targeted from both sides. In protest against the attack on vehicles of Maharashtra in Karnataka, Shiv Sainiks in Pune, Maharashtra also blackened the government buses of Karnataka on Tuesday (December 6). NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has asked the Central Government to intervene in this matter. Know the big things related to the matter.

1. In Belagavi, Karnataka, trucks with Maharashtra number plates were stopped and black ink was applied to them. Along with this, stone pelting was also done. In protest against this, Karnataka buses have also been targeted in Pune. The Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute has become even more complicated. The Government of Karnataka has allowed the ST bus of Maharashtra to come to Belgaum (Belagavi). The Karnataka Police has told the ST Mahamandal that there may be stone pelting on the bus here.

2. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday regarding this matter. The Deputy Chief Minister's Office said that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis spoke to the Karnataka Chief Minister and expressed strong displeasure over the incidents at Hirebagwadi near Belagavi.

3. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that strict action will be taken against the culprits. He assured Fadnavis that vehicles coming from Maharashtra would be protected.

4. On this matter, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said on Tuesday that the border dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka has been there for many years. That's why whenever anything happens there on the border dispute issue, I get a call. In the press conference, Pawar read out a message that the situation here is serious regarding the border dispute issue. The Chief Ministers of both states should come forward and take a concrete decision in this matter. The people of Maharashtra are being attacked. Vehicles are being targeted and an atmosphere of panic is being created.

5. Sharad Pawar said that the Deputy Chief Minister of the state spoke to the Chief Minister on the phone, but nothing is going to happen. There seems to be a big problem regarding the vehicles coming to the border. The way the attack was done there and the incidents that are happening, it is very serious. If the situation does not improve in the next 24 hours, then whatever happens next will be entirely the responsibility of the Center and the Karnataka government.

6. The NCP chief said that the CM of Karnataka has not shown any leniency on this issue despite talking to him. No one should test our (Maharashtra) patience and it should not go in the wrong direction. CM Shinde should take all the parties into confidence before taking any decision. Parliament session is about to begin, I request all the MPs to come together and take a stand on this.

7. In Belagavi, an organization named Karnataka Rakshana Vedike protested strongly a week ago regarding the case of the beating of a student. It was alleged that a Kannada student was beaten up by Marathi students for hoisting the flag of Karnataka at the college festival.

8. There is already a dispute going on in both states regarding the interstate border. At the same time, this incident worked to increase it further. Belagavi is at the center of the dispute as Maharashtra has been claiming that the Marathi-majority region was wrongfully given to Kannada-majority Karnataka in the language-based reorganization of states in the 1960s.

9. In the protest in Karnataka, the glasses of a truck were also broken. Police were deployed to calm the situation, but the protesters josled with the police and lay down on the road. Karnataka has also recently resumed its claim on some villages in Maharashtra, increasing the dispute between the two states. Whereas in both states only one party BJP is in power.

10. Recently two Maharashtra ministers, Chandrakant Patil and Shambhuraj Desai postponed their scheduled visit to Belagavi. On the other hand, on Monday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that this visit could pose a law and order challenge. Both the ministers were going to discuss with the people in Belagavi, Karnataka.
