The largest trading partners of India are the United States, China, and the United Arab Emirates. Johnson is expected to announce new investment and export agreements by British and Indian businesses in areas ranging from software engineering to pharmaceuticals, totaling more than ₹7,600 crores.

India and the UK started talks on a free trade agreement in January this year. Sources said that the two countries have resolved some issues in the first two rounds of talks and some key issues related to market access are expected to be discussed in the third round of talks.
