Bumrah may be out of IPL: Doubt on playing final of World Test Championship may return in ODI World Cup

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah may be out of IPL 2023. On the other hand, if India reaches the final of the World Test Championship, then there is doubt about his playing. The World Test Championship final is to be held in England in July. The Indian team management does not want to take any risk regarding his injury. He can return to the World Cup to be held in October-November.

 

Bumrah is rehabbing in NCA

Bumrah plays for Mumbai Indians team in IPL. He is currently undergoing the process of rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He has also been practicing bowling there for some time. In such a situation, it was expected that he could be seen playing in the last 2 matches of the Test series against Australia, but the selectors did not include him in the team, taking any risk based on his fitness. After that, it was expected that he could make a comeback from the IPL to be held in March-April, but now the news is coming that it may take time for him to get fit.

According to media reports, there is doubt about playing in the final of IPL 2023 and the World Test Championship to be played in June. In such a situation, Bumrah can now make a comeback in the ODI World Cup to be held later this year. According to reports, the BCCI and the team management have set a target of getting Bumrah back in the ODI World Cup this year. The ODI World Cup is to be held in India in October-November this year.

Bumrah is away from cricket for the last 7 months. He played the last match in the T20 series against Australia in September. In fact, during the tour of England in July last year, Bumrah had a back problem. Bumrah could not play in the Asia Cup due to a stress fracture. He then made a comeback in the T20I series against Australia but was dropped only after 2 matches. After this, Bumrah was completely out of the T20 World Cup as well.
