The 2022 Cannes Film Festival has begun. For the first time this year, India is going to attend the film festival as 'Country of Honour'. Ahead of the appearance of the Indian delegation led by Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur at Cannes 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued the message.
On India being officially recognized as a Country of Honour, PM Modi said, "I am delighted to know about India's participation as the Country of Honor in the Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes. a year and the 75th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival, as well as 75 years of diplomatic relations with France."
The PM said that it is heartening to know that a film by one of India's most celebrated filmmakers, Satyajit Ray, has been restored for screening in the Cannes Classics section. The diversity of our film sector is remarkable."
