From the first day of its release, the audience showed such passion for the film that it just kept breaking records. Now Gadar 2 is going to create havoc in the world's biggest award show Oscar.
The box office success of Gadar 2 remains a topic of discussion. The film made such a run in the theaters that it earned Rs 400 crore in no time. Now the Rs 500 crore club is also going to be attacked in a few days. Amidst the success of Gadar 2, the director is now planning to send the film to the Oscars. He has also started preparations for this.
Preparations started to send Oscar
Anil Sharma told The Indian Express that people have been calling him repeatedly to send the film to the Oscars. He also added that Gadar: Ek Prem Katha did not go for the Academy Awards and he does not know how Gadar 2 will reach there. Anil Sharma said, "We are working on it. Gadar 2 should go, the film deserves it. Gadar also deserved it. Gadar was based on the Partition of 1947, and we told the story very differently. It was a fresh and original story. Gadar 2 is also a fresh and original story."
The industry did not understand its
Anil Sharma expressed his displeasure over the lack of attention given to him despite working in Bollywood for 40 years. He recalled how Dharmendra used to wear new suits and ties to award shows in the hope of getting an award, but he never did. He had said, 'I don't think I have been a part of this industry.'
I will not get awards
Regarding the awards, the director further said, "I will not lie, but we also want awards." Even though he is sure that he will not get the award, he has never lobbied for it. However, Anil Sharma is very happy to see the love people are getting for Gadar 2. He said, "I have been making films for forty years. It may be good or bad, but I make my films as my heart feels."
The audience is never wrong
He further added, "I feel really happy when people show love." I feel sad when they don't because I have made films for the audience. Then I work towards correcting the mistakes that we made with the films that didn't do well because The audience is never wrong, the filmmakers are."
