Kanguva: After trolling, the makers of Surya's 'Kanguva' will work on sound mixing again! Update on the sequel

The period fantasy film Kanguva starring Surya in the lead hit the theatres on November 14, 2024. Directed by Siva, the film has been receiving negative reviews from both audiences and critics. The outdated modern-day portions and loud sound design made Kanguva a useless experience for cinephiles. However, producer KE Gnanavel Raja recently spoke about the team's plans to rework the sound mixing and revealed that Kanguva 2 is being made on a larger scale.

Music will be reworked.

Recently, Kanguva producer KE Gnanavel Raja spoke about the criticisms of the film's loud sound design. The producer, who defended composer Devi Sri Prasad, revealed that it is not a problem with his tunes. Gnanavel Raja says that it is the film's sound mixing that went wrong. He further added that the Kanguva team is planning to rework the film's sound mixing and reduce the volume.

What did the producer say about the criticism of the film?

KE Gnanavel Raja said that Kanguva 2 is going to be released very soon. He said that the Shiva-directed film is getting positive reviews and only the first 20 minutes of the film are being criticized. The producers are planning to make the second installment even more spectacular, on a bigger scale and on a bigger budget. The producer also said that this film will soon become Suriya's highest-grossing film in a few days.

Budget of the film

Suriya plays two characters, 'Kanguva', who is a tribal warrior, and the other 'Francis', who is a modern-age bounty hunter. Disha Patani appears as Angelina and Bobby Deol as the villain. 'Kanguva' is touted to be one of the biggest and most expensive films of this year. With an estimated budget of over Rs 350 crore, it is claiming to be bigger than 'Pushpa', 'Singham', and many other big films. Apart from this, the film was shot in seven different countries on different continents of India.

Film cast

Director Siruthai Siva's 'Kanguva' is an ambitious fantasy action film. Apart from Surya and Bobby Deol, the film also stars Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandraj, Marimuthu, Deepa Venkat, Ravi Raghavendra and KS Ravikumar in supporting roles.
