'Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister should resign immediately', BJP blamed the Congress government for the stampede.

After the death of 11 people in the stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, a political war has erupted between the BJP and the Congress. The BJP has called it a government-made disaster and has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. At the same time, Shivakumar accused the BJP leaders of misrepresenting.

 

Congress government responsible for the stampede

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that the stampede in the state occurred due to the mutual fight and discord between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar. The Congress government is responsible for this stampede.

He recalled the arrest of Telugu actor Allu Arjun due to the stampede in Telangana last year, where the Congress is in power. Asked whether the Congress would adopt the same rule in Karnataka and arrest its two senior leaders. He also criticized Rahul Gandhi and asked him to break his silence on the incident and remove the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister from their posts.

 

Probe committee formed

 

Union minister Shobha Karandlaje demanded the immediate resignation of deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar and urged the formation of a probe committee headed by a sitting high court judge to probe the stampede.

 

She accused the state's Congress government of acting in haste without any planning or thought for the event. Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar termed the Congress as inept, incompetent, irresponsible, and corrupt.

 

He further said that the Congress party in Karnataka is full of corrupt leaders who make false promises and fail to manage public events in a city like Bengaluru, which is called the Silicon Valley of Asia.

Amid criticism by the BJP, DK Shivakumar said that the image of Bengaluru has been tarnished due to the incident that claimed 11 lives. Speaking to reporters, he said, "We are deeply saddened. The victims are our family members." My CM is also in shock- Shivkumar

 

He further said that the image of Karnataka, the image of Bengaluru..yes we take responsibility for it. We are not blaming others. However, this has happened very unexpectedly. No one expected such a huge crowd. We want to pay our respects to the deceased. My CM is also in shock, my Home Minister is also in shock and the whole state is in shock. The state is mourning this.

 

The police did not allow the celebrations.

 

On the allegations leveled by the opposition that the police did not allow the celebrations, he said- I do not want to react to these people of BJP. I am accountable only to the people of Karnataka and the country.
