The political crisis continues in Nepal. Recently Prime Minister KP Sharma OP sent a proposal to dissolve the house to President Bidya Devi Bhandari, which was accepted. Later, the Election Commission also announced the election date. Meanwhile, China is constantly trying to dominate Nepal. In Kathmandu, members of the Chinese delegation met Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.

The ruling Nepali Communist Party has split into two camps following the latest political situation arising in Nepal. The battle for supremacy is going on between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Prime Minister Prachanda. However, the matter of estrangement of both is coming out in the last few months, which has increased the concern of China.

A high-level Chinese delegation led by the Deputy Minister of the Communist Party of China arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday to take stock of Nepal's political situation. The 'My Republica' newspaper quoted senior NCP leaders as saying that specific details of the tour's agenda were not available, but a four-member team led by Deputy Minister Guo Yezhu of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Kathmandu Will hold high-level talks during the stay.

Citing a diplomatic source, it said that the purpose of the visit is to take stock of the political situation emerging after the dissolution of the House of Representatives of Nepal and the separation of the ruling Nepal Communist Party. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, known as a pro-Beijing supporter, recommended the dissolution of the 275-member parliament as part of a sudden move last Sunday amid the ongoing tug of power with former Prime Minister Pushp Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'. On the recommendation of the Prime Minister, President Vidya Devi Bhandari dissolved the House on the same day and announced fresh elections on 30 April and 10 May, which a large faction of Prachanda led NCP started opposing. Meanwhile, it has been reported in the news that the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu and the Foreign Ministry are silent on Guo's visit.

Earlier this week, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yankee gave information about Guo's visit in a meeting with senior NCP leaders of Prachanda and Oli faction. Deputy Minister Guo is scheduled to meet with leaders of both factions. Beijing appears to be concerned with Oli's move to dissolve parliament and the political situation resulting from it.

Soon after the dissolution of parliament, the Chinese ambassador intensified his meetings with the top political leadership in Nepal. Hou has met several leaders including President Bhandari, senior NCP leaders Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal, former Parliament Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Barsha Man Pun. China has intervened in Nepal's internal affairs several times in the past.
