After landing in Lucknow along with former Congress President Rahul Gandhi to meet the families of the victims in Lakhimpur Kheri, Charanjit Singh Channi said, "We are with the families of the slain farmers. On behalf of the Punjab government, I announce Rs 50 lakh each to the families of those killed, including the journalist.
Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, standing with Channi, also announced financial help for the farmers. He said, "On behalf of the Chhattisgarh government, I announce Rs 50 lakh each to the families of the farmers and journalists killed in the violence."
