The progress of cases of Covid-19 is slower in India than in many other countries. Even compared to developed countries, we have far fewer cases of infection. Which shows that nationwide desegregation and other steps are showing their positive impact. However, there will not be any relaxation in social distance at present. The government said this on Monday.
Health Ministry Joint Secretary Love Aggarwal said, 'Our analysis shows that it took 12 days for cases in our country to increase from 100 to 1,000. While many developed countries where the population is less than us, the growth rate is higher. In developed countries, cases have increased to 3,500, 5000, 6,000 and even 8,000 within a short span of time.
However, Agarwal said that there should be no room for satisfaction and we should take complete caution. Follow all government guidelines, protocols, social distance and quarantine related to lockdown. Aggarwal said, 'This is an everyday battle because we are fighting an infectious disease. We have seen globally. If even one person fails to comply then we will return to the stage zero. One person who does not follow the rules can infect several hundred people and they can infect thousands. Therefore 100 percent vigilance is required.
Traveling to the affected countries was banned as part of the government's strategy to deal with Kovid-19. The concerted efforts by the central and state governments to implement lockdowns have received support from think tanks like Brookings India. Shamika Ravi, director of research at Brookings India, said, “There has been a rapid increase in cases in different parts of the world, especially in countries of the European Union, the UK and the US. Of course cases are increasing in India but the growth rate is decreasing. It seems that early measures like travel restrictions and closing of schools and colleges around March 12 have given us some time. '
According to Ravi's assessment, the rate of confirmed cases has doubled every five days since March 23, compared to double the number every three days earlier. The Ministry of Health has confirmed 1,251 cases of Kovid-19 till Monday. Out of this, 1117 active cases, 101 were rectified and one is a migratory case.
