New York Firing Case: Main accused in New York mass shooting convicted of murder and terrorism

Peyton Gendron, the 19-year-old suspect in the shooting incident at a supermarket in the city of Buffalo, New York, has been convicted of murder and terrorism. The BBC reported that New York does not carry out the death penalty, which is why the accused will be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Let us tell you that on May 14, 2022, the accused Peyton Gendron carried out a shooting incident at a supermarket in Buffalo city. Ten African-Americans were killed in the shooting, while three others were injured.

The judge asked the accused questions in the court

And during Monday's hearing, Judge Susan Egan read the names of each of the victims. It then asked the accused whether he had killed them because of their caste. The accused also answered yes to each of the charges leveled against him. The gunman also faces multiple federal charges for the shooting, which could carry the death penalty.

 

The Grand Jury convicted the accused

It is noteworthy that in June, a grand jury indicted the accused on separate counts, in which the accused was found guilty of carrying out the hate incident. It was the first time a grand jury in New York State had indicted an accused on a charge of hate-motivated terrorism.

 

The incident was executed on May 14

Explain that the accused Peyton Gendron had driven for about three hours on May 14, 2022, to carry out the incident. Thereafter the accused reached the spot and fired indiscriminately. In which 10 African-American citizens lost their lives. The age of the victims ranged from 32 to 86 years. There have been more than 600 mass shooting incidents in the US so far this year. Last year, there were 690 mass shooting incidents in the country, but in the year 2020, the number was 610.
