Coronavirus has started spreading in the country once again. The number of coronavirus infected is increasing in different parts of the country. In Odisha, a new case of Covid-19 was reported after two and a half years. At the same time, 15 cases have been reported in Gujarat. At the same time, three cases were registered in Haryana.

Odisha: New case reported after two and a half years, patient's condition stable

A new case of coronavirus has been reported in Odisha after two and a half years. Health and Family Welfare Secretary S. Aswathi said that the patient's condition is stable, but the matter of concern is that the infected person has many other health problems. So far, the central government or the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has not issued any advisory on the spread of the coronavirus. He said, the health department has been asked to monitor the situation and we are alert. According to the information available, Kovid-19 cases are being reported in different parts of India and patients are found to be infected with mild strains, which have very low risk of severity.

Aswathi said, there is no need to worry. We are monitoring the situation and waiting for new advice from the Centre or NCDC. When we get it, we will take the necessary steps. He said that no advisory has been issued for the public so far. He claimed that the situation is completely under control and there is no need to worry. According to sources, the infected person is undergoing treatment at a private hospital here. According to the Odisha government's COVID-19 dashboard, 26 cases were reported in the state on November 8, 2022.

Gujarat: 15 cases registered; Government said - no need to panic

After a long gap, 15 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Gujarat. Officials have appealed to the people not to panic as this variant is less severe. All the patients are being treated at home, officials said.

Additional Director (Public Health) Dr. Neelam Patel said, Gujarat currently has 15 active cases of JN.1 variant of COVID-19. This variant belongs to the Omicron family, which was first discovered in August 2023. Patel told reporters in Gandhinagar, "Of the active cases in Gujarat, 13 are in Ahmedabad city and one each in Rajkot city and Ahmedabad rural area. These cases are of the Omicron JN.1 variant, which is less severe. It is not a major concern for Gujarat or India at the moment." He said that countries like China, Thailand, and Singapore have reported thousands of cases in recent weeks and it is natural that this infection has spread to India as well as people travel from one place to another. One of these 15 patients had traveled to Singapore. This coronavirus variant is less severe, so these 15 patients did not require hospitalization. They are undergoing treatment in isolation at home. Although there are isolation wards in our hospitals, there is no immediate need to use them, he said. He said, there is no need to panic. People should just be cautious. People who are suffering from cough and cold should avoid going out.

Haryana: Three cases in Gurgaon, Faridabad

Three cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Gurgaon and Faridabad in Haryana. Two cases were reported from Gurgaon and one from Faridabad, an official said on Thursday. "A woman (31 years old) tested positive in Gurgaon. The woman had recently returned from Mumbai. A 62-year-old man was also found infected, who had no travel history. Both the patients have been isolated," the official said.

The official said a youth (28 years old) working as a security guard in Sehtpur (Palla area) of Faridabad tested positive for Covid-19. He went to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi after suffering from fever, cough, and cold for several days. The Covid test conducted there confirmed the infection.

Dr JP Rajliwal of Gurgaon Health Department said, "Both the patients in Gurgaon have been kept in home isolation. The health department is monitoring them." He has been advised to stay away from his family. The health department is identifying people who came in contact with him so that their samples can also be tested.
