Another child has died due to Zero Covid Policy in China, due to which the Chinese authorities had to face public anger on Thursday as well. According to local news reports and social media posts, a four-month-old girl died of vomiting and diarrhea while staying in a hotel quarantine in the central city of Guangzhou. There have also been battles with health workers confining millions of people to their homes.

Health workers are prevented from going to the hospital

The AP news agency quoted local news reports as saying that it took 11 hours for the child's father to reach health facilities. During this, emergency services also came to a standstill, and later he was sent to a hospital 100 km away for treatment. The death comes as the ruling Communist Party promised this month that people would not be barred from receiving emergency aid. The father of the deceased blamed the health workers in Lanzhou city for this. He said the health workers tried to prevent his daughter from going to the hospital.

officials should be punished

Following the incident, internet users expressed their anger over the ruling Communist Party's zero-Covid policy, demanding that officials in Zhengzhou be punished for failing to help the public. One user wrote on the popular Sina Weibo platform that once again someone died due to excessive epidemic prevention measures.

Officials promised to ease restrictions

It is known that the ruling Communist Party had promised to relax other restrictions including its zero Covid policy only last week. Zero Covid policy has been implemented in the country to isolate the infected person so that the infection does not spread rapidly.
