Salman Khan has long been a supporter of Preity Zinta’s IPL team. Recently, he posted a tweet congratulating Preity and her team following a victory. However, he made a mistake in this tweet, which has led to him being heavily trolled on social media. Let’s find out exactly what error ‘Bhaijaan’ committed.
Salman Congratulates Preity
As it happens, a cricket match took place between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on Monday evening during the 2026 IPL season. Following this, Salman Khan shared a tweet on his X account to congratulate Preity Zinta. In his post, he wrote: “Well done Zinta, congratulations! The team is truly playing well.”
Fans Troll Bhaijaan
Following this tweet from Salman, social media users began trolling him because Preity Zinta’s IPL team—the Punjab Kings—had actually played their previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad last Saturday, a game in which Punjab secured a splendid 6-wicket victory.
Consequently, users are pointing out that Salman is a bit late in offering his congratulations to Preity. This is the reason people on social media are trolling him, and memes regarding the incident are currently doing the rounds.
The Actors’ Work Front
It is worth noting that Salman Khan has supported Preity Zinta’s team—then known as Kings XI Punjab—in the past as well, specifically in 2014; now, his latest tweet has taken social media by storm.
On the work front, Salman Khan is set to appear next in the film Matrubhumi. Its release date has been postponed, and no information regarding a new release date has been revealed yet.
Meanwhile, Preity Zinta is currently seen actively supporting her team, the Punjab Kings, during the ongoing IPL season.
