There is no need to be afraid of new variants of Corona

Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, former chief scientist of the World Health Organization, has said in an interview that we need to be cautious of new variants. We don't need to worry. We currently have no data to suggest. We just have to adopt normal safety measures. We need to be cautious. People should avoid being in places with low ventilation without a mask. If you are in such an area then definitely wear a mask. Avoid going near any infected person. Try to stay in an open space. If there is any problem like fever or shortness of breath then definitely go to the hospital. He further said that we have to keep in mind that it is winter season now. We need to take precautions. Instructions to states to increase surveillance

According to WHO, the JN.1 sub-variant of coronavirus was earlier considered to be the type of BA.2.86. However, in the past few weeks, JN.1 cases have been reported in more than 40 countries. Given the rapidly spreading infection, the Union Health Ministry has asked the states and union territories to maintain constant surveillance.
