Valentine's Day is the day of love. This day is very special for lovers. Couples spend time together with each other on this day. In most countries of the world including India, Valentine's Day is no less than a festival.

However, Union Home Minister Giriraj Singh said that February 14 should be celebrated as 'Cow Hug Day' across the country. Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday supported the Animal Welfare Board of India's advice to observe Cow Hug Day on February 14, saying everyone should love the cow.

Good decision for 'Cow Hug Day': Giriraj Singh

Addressing a press conference, the Union Minister said, the decision of 'Cow Hug Day' on February 14 is very good, cows should be hugged. I welcome the decision of Purushottam Rupala ji's ministry. We all should love and hug the cow.

Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjana Jyoti has also welcomed this decision saying that 33 crore gods and goddesses reside in the cow. He further said, 'Cow is considered our mother and we should embrace her.'

He further said that 33 crore gods and goddesses reside inside the cow. I thank the Honorable Minister. Cow gives us milk from birth till death, we drink its milk. The mother who gives birth keeps it. Keeps us in the womb for 9 months, then when we worship her as a mother, then why not the mother cow?

Vedic tradition should be encouraged: Animal Welfare Board of India

To promote the 'Vedic tradition', the Animal Welfare Board of India has urged people to observe 'Cow Hug Day' on February 14. The board said, "The glare of western civilization has almost forgotten our culture and heritage."

Because of its immense benefits, according to the Animal Welfare Board, hugging cows brings emotional prosperity and increases individual and collective happiness.

The Union Minister said, 'On one hand Valentine's Day will be celebrated all over the world on February 14, while on the other hand, the Animal Welfare Society of India has given another option to the people troubled by Valentine's Day. If they want, they can celebrate Cow Hug Day.

He said that many people in India find it difficult to celebrate Valentine's Day and for them, the government has announced making this day Cow Hug Day.
