Addressing a press conference, the Union Minister said, the decision of 'Cow Hug Day' on February 14 is very good, cows should be hugged. I welcome the decision of Purushottam Rupala ji's ministry. We all should love and hug the cow.
Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjana Jyoti has also welcomed this decision saying that 33 crore gods and goddesses reside in the cow. He further said, 'Cow is considered our mother and we should embrace her.'

Vedic tradition should be encouraged: Animal Welfare Board of India
To promote the 'Vedic tradition', the Animal Welfare Board of India has urged people to observe 'Cow Hug Day' on February 14. The board said, "The glare of western civilization has almost forgotten our culture and heritage."
Because of its immense benefits, according to the Animal Welfare Board, hugging cows brings emotional prosperity and increases individual and collective happiness.
The Union Minister said, 'On one hand Valentine's Day will be celebrated all over the world on February 14, while on the other hand, the Animal Welfare Society of India has given another option to the people troubled by Valentine's Day. If they want, they can celebrate Cow Hug Day.
He said that many people in India find it difficult to celebrate Valentine's Day and for them, the government has announced making this day Cow Hug Day.
