
In the academic session 2022-23, the study of cyber security in undergraduate and postgraduate programs will be mandatory in all higher educational institutions of the country. The undergraduate program will teach a basic and mid-level course in cyber security, which will consist of four credits. The postgraduate program will consist of mid-level and advanced-level studies, which will carry four credits. Its objective is to make students aware of cyber frauds in the era of digital education and impart technical knowledge and prepare experts in the field of cyber security. In this, the legal, social, and economic aspects of cyber security will also be made aware.
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof. M Jagadesh Kumar said that the purpose is to make the students aware of cyber fraud and to give technical knowledge. Because of the revolution in information technology and the increasing demand for security-related matters, the need for cyber security is being felt strongly. The rapid advancement in information technology raises very complex questions. A suitable solution is needed today. The curriculum prepared by high-level subject experts is based on these issues related to cyber security at present. Technology, its process, and common people have been kept at the center of its preparation.

The UG program will get four credits based on lectures, tutorials, and practical practice. In this, general knowledge of cyber security, cybercrime and cyber law, social media and security, e-commerce and digital payments, digital tools and techniques in cyber security, etc. will be taught. At the same time, in the postgraduate program, cyber security management, data privacy, data security, cyber law, cybercrime, etc. will be taught.
