Covid-19 records 9,983 new cases

Meanwhile, after a record 9,983 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, the total number of infected people has reached 2,56,611 across the country, while 206 more deaths due to infection have increased to 7,135. According to Johns Hopkins University data, India is the fifth most affected country in the world after the US, Brazil, Russia and the UK due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

 

According to the Union Health Ministry, at present the number of under-treated patients in the country is 1,25,381, while 1,24,094 patients have been cured of the disease. A patient has gone out of the country.

 

"Thus far, about 48.36 per cent of the patients have been cured," said a senior Health Ministry official. The confirmed cases also include foreign nationals.

 

Out of 206 deaths since Sunday morning, 91 deaths were reported in Maharashtra, 30 deaths in Gujarat, 18-18 deaths in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, 13-13 deaths in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, nine in Rajasthan, four in Haryana, two each. Two deaths have occurred in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand, while one each has occurred in Odisha and Punjab.

 

Out of the total 7,135 deaths due to Corona virus infection across the country so far, Maharashtra tops with 3,060 deaths, followed by Gujarat with 1,249 deaths, while Delhi has 761 deaths. In addition, 412 deaths occurred in Madhya Pradesh, 396 in West Bengal, 275 in Uttar Pradesh, 269 in Tamil Nadu, 240 in Rajasthan and 123 in Telangana.

 

The death toll rose to 75 in Andhra Pradesh, 61 in Karnataka and 51 in Punjab.

 

In Jammu and Kashmir, 41 people have died due to the disease, while 30 deaths have occurred in Bihar, 28 in Haryana, 15 in Kerala, 13 in Uttarakhand, nine in Odisha and seven in Jharkhand.

 

Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh have five deaths each, while Assam and Chhattisgarh have four deaths each. There has been one death each in Meghalaya and Ladakh.

 

According to the ministry's website, more than 70 percent of the patients who died were also suffering from other diseases.

 

According to the latest data released in the morning by the Ministry of Health, Maharashtra has the highest number of confirmed cases of corona virus infection, with 85,975 cases, followed by 31,667 cases in Tamil Nadu, 27,654 cases in Delhi, 20,070 in Gujarat, 10,599 in Rajasthan. There are 10,536 cases in Uttar Pradesh and 9,401 cases in Madhya Pradesh.

 

The number of Covid-19 cases has increased to 8,187 in West Bengal, 5,452 in Karnataka, 5,088 in Bihar and 4,708 in Andhra Pradesh.

 

There have been 4,448 infections in Haryana, 4,087 cases in Jammu and Kashmir, 3,580 cases in Telangana and 2,856 in Odisha.

 

There have been 2,608 cases of corona virus in Punjab while 2,565 cases have been reported in Assam. 1,914 people have been infected with the virus in Kerala and 1,355 in Uttarakhand.

 

In Jharkhand, 1,099 cases of Covid-19 have been reported, while 1,073 cases have been reported from Chhattisgarh. There are 800 cases of infection in Tripura, 413 in Himachal Pradesh, 314 in Chandigarh and 300 in Goa. There are 172 cases in Manipur and 118 cases in Nagaland.

 

103 cases of Covid-19 in Ladakh, 99 in Puducherry, 51 in Arunachal Pradesh, 36 in Meghalaya, 34 in Mizoram while 33 cases of infection have been reported in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

 

There are 20 cases in Dadar and Nagar Haveli while seven cases have been reported so far in Sikkim.
