Delhi Flood: Yamuna's water level decreased but danger remains, Yamuna is still flowing 2 meters above the danger mark

The flow of Yamuna is continuously decreasing. Now the water level has come down to 208 meters, but it is still well above the danger mark of 205.33 meters. The water level near Loha Pul was 207.53 meters at 9 am. The water supply service is expected to be normal on Saturday as the water level receded.

 

At the same time, there is still water in Civil Lines, Kashmiri Gate, Ring Road, Rajghat, and ITO area, due to which many roads are closed.

Rain may worsen the situation

Due to the forecast of heavy rains by the Meteorological Department, the situation is also expected to worsen. The water level of Yamuna had started coming down since Friday itself. One of the five jammed gates of the ITO barrage was opened with the help of the army during the night.

 

The faulty regulator of the drain near the Indraprastha Metro station was fixed. Despite that, water has not yet come out from the Vikas Marg on ITO. Rajghat is also filled with water? The road from ITO to Ring Road, from Sarai Kale Khan to ITO is closed. A very small number of vehicles are being allowed to ply on Vikas Marg as well. People are facing trouble due to the closure of the road.

 

Water plant centers were closed after the water level

Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla water treatment plants were closed on Thursday due to the floods. Due to which Civil Lines area of the capital, Hindu Rao Hospital, Kamla Nagar, Patel Nagar (East-West), Karol Bagh, Paharganj, NDMC area, Old and New Rajendra Nagar, Baljit Nagar, Prem Nagar, Inderpuri, Shastri Nagar, Kalkaji, Govindpuri, Tughlakabad, Sangam Vihar, Ambedkar Nagar, Prahladpur, Ramlila Ground, Delhi Gate, Subhash Park, Model Town, Gulabi Bagh, Punjabi Bagh, Jahangirpuri, Moolchand, South Extension, Greater Kailash and areas of Kent, Sonia Vihar, Yamuna Vihar, Bhajanpura, Water supply has been disrupted in Shastri Park, Ghonda, Seemapuri. It is a matter of relief that the Okhla plant started on Friday.

 

The Chief Minister had said that the other two plants would be started once the water level reaches 207.7 meters. Both plants are expected to be operational by this afternoon.
