Delhi will decide before Gujarat, and dates for MCD elections will be announced

The dates for the MCD elections in Delhi have been announced. Delhi Election Commissioner Vijay Dev said that elections will be held in 250 wards of MCD in 68 assembly constituencies. The notification for the elections will be issued on November 7. The last date for nominations is November 14. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on November 16. Candidates can withdraw their names till November 19. Voting for the MCD elections, called the semi-finals of Delhi, will be held on December 4. The results will be declared on December 7.

 

The Delhi Election Commissioner said that out of the total 250 seats, 42 are reserved for SCs. Of these, 21 seats have been reserved for women from the SC community. Of the others, 104 seats are reserved for women. In this way, 50 percent of seats have been reserved for women. 1.46 crore voters will exercise their franchise in the MCD elections. Of these, 213 voters are above 100 years of age. A total of 13 thousand 665 polling stations will be built.

 

The Delhi Election Commissioner said that with the announcement of the dates, the model code of conduct has been implemented. Loudspeakers will be banned from 10 pm to 6 am. Nominations will be held at 68 places. The expenditure limit for the candidates in the election was earlier 5.57 lakhs, which has been increased to 8 lakhs. Vijay Dev said that making the corporation elections fair and transparent is his priority and all preparations have been completed for this. It is worth mentioning that after the integration, elections will be held on 250 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Earlier the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was divided into three parts and there were a total of 272 wards. In the latest delimitation, the number of wards has been reduced from 272 to 250. The Election Commission released the list of 250 wards only last month.
