Gurgaon, March 27 (IANS) AAP leader Yogendra Yadav, candidate for the Gurgaon Lok Sabha seat, Thursday urged the Election Commission to disqualify Congress candidate Rao Dharampal from contesting the polls for giving false information in his affidavit.
Yadav said in his complaint to the returning officer that Rao Dharampal's balance sheet shows there are land holdings in the form of a real estate company, estimated to be valued at over Rs.50 crore.
However, details like location, size and ownership share are not mentioned, and so the circle rates cannot be estimated, he said.
Quoting the Representation of the People Act, 1951, Yadav said that a candidate who gives false information or conceals any information in his nomination paper can be punished with imprisonment for up to six months or slapped with a fine or both.
