Draupadi Murmu became the 15th President of the country: CJI administered the oath and said - the public interest is paramount for me

Draupadi Murmu was sworn in as the 15th President of the country by Chief Justice NV Ramana. She is the country's first tribal woman president. Draupadi Murmu took the oath of the country's highest constitutional office at 10.15 am in the Central Hall of the Parliament House. He was given a 21-gun salute.

Earlier she reached Rashtrapati Bhavan, where she met Ram Nath Kovind and his wife. Both congratulate Murmu. He had paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat before leaving for Rashtrapati Bhavan.

 

64 special guests from Odisha have come to Murmu's swearing-in program. After the oath, lunch for the special guests has been organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan. After that everyone will be rotated throughout the whole building.

People of the highest office of the country have attended the oath ceremony of President Draupadi Murmu. Politicians, judges, and bureaucrats, but Draupadi has invited her special people to this function. 64 people from Odisha's Mayurbhanj district attended the event.

 

By the way, the list of close friends of Draupadi Murmu is in the thousands. In May 2015, when she was sworn in as governor, about 3,000 people had gone from Ranchi in Jharkhand and Mayurbhanj district of Orissa to be Draupadi's special guests.

Among Murmu's guests, his brother Tarnisen Tudu and sister-in-law Sukri Tudu have reached Delhi from Uparbeda village. Apart from these, their daughter Itishree, their son-in-law, and both of his granddaughters. The elder granddaughter is two and a half years old, while the second one is just about two and a half months old. Apart from that, his special guests include his friend- Dhanki Murmu. Dhanaki studied with him in college in Bhubaneswar. This friend of Draupadi stays with her in every sorrow and happiness.

 

Bikash Mahto and four more people, including BJP workers from Rairangpur, Draupadi's current residence, have reached Delhi to attend the function. Apart from this, the MLAs of the district and some of their villages Paharpur and Uparwada also include political people.

 

Will be the 10th President to take oath on July 25

 

Murmu will be the 10th President of the country who is taking oath on July 25. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, the sixth President of India, was sworn in on 25 July 1977. Since then, on 25 July, Giani Zail Singh, R. Venkataraman, Shankar Dayal Sharma, K.R. Narayanan, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Pratibha Patil, Pranab Mukherjee, and Ram Nath Kovind took oath as the President on the same date.

 

Kovind and Murmu will reach Parliament together

 

Outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind and elected President Draupadi Murmu will reach Parliament before the ceremony. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, members of the Council of Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, Members of Parliament and heads of government, civil and military officials, will attend the ceremony.

 

After the ceremony, Murmu will leave for Rashtrapati Bhavan, where she will be presented with an 'Inter-Service Guard of Honour' and will be accorded a courtesy call on the outgoing President.

 

Murmu's certificate of victory will be read

 

After the counting of the presidential election is completed on July 21, the returning officials announce the results. After this, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Anoop Chandra Pandey jointly signed the 'Certificate regarding the election of Draupadi Murmu as the new President of India'. Now the same certificate has been sent to the Union Home Secretary, which will be read at the swearing-in ceremony of the 15th President of India.

Murmu will be the first to be born after independence and the youngest president to hold the top post. She is also the second woman to become president. Murmu (64) defeated Yashwant Sinha, the opposition's presidential candidate. Murmu won with more than 64 percent valid votes of MPs and MLAs including the electoral college. Murmu got 6 Lakh 76 Thousand 803 votes as against Sinha's 3 Lakh 80 Thousand 177 votes.
