Education System: About 15 crore children and youth of the country are still deprived of a formal education system. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan gave this information today. At the same time, he told that, for the population of about 25 crores in the country, the literacy system remains out of their reach. Dharmendra Pradhan was addressing the topic 'Employment Generation and Entrepreneurship' in a session organized on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). During which he said this thing.

The Union Education Minister said, "If we look at the figures of children aged 3 to 22 years, then the number of children and youth studying in government, private and charitable schools, anganwadis, higher educational institutions and all systems related to the skill ecosystem is about 35 crores. Whereas in this age group, at present the population of the country is about 50 crores. At the same time, he said, "It is clear from this that 150 million children and youth are still out of the formal education system. We want to connect all these back to our education system."

The goal of national education policy is to be achieved by the completion of 100 years of independence

The Education Minister said that in the post-independence census, it was found that 19 percent of the total population was literate at that time. He said that "The figures of 75 years after independence show that, now the literacy rate in the country has reached 80 percent. However, this means that even now 20 percent of the country's population i.e. about 25 crore people is this. deprived of it."

Talking about the importance of the new National Education Policy (NEP), Pradhan said, "It is not just a document, but it is the goal that we have to achieve in the next 25 years i.e. till the completion of 100 years of independence."
