After Aryan Khan got bail and NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede was accused of bribery, the pace of investigation of a drugs case in Bollywood may slow down. The last action taken by NCB, in this case, was on 22 October. A drug paddler was caught on this day, but he was neither shown to be arrested nor told what happened to him. Actress Ananya Pandey was also questioned on the same day. After this, the actress was asked to come again on 26 October.
It was only on October 22 that Nawab Malik's attacks on Sameer Wankhede intensified and since then it is believed that the central probe agency is on the backfoot. After this, suddenly on Sunday, NCB's witness Prabhakar Sail appeared in front of the media and alleged through an affidavit that KP Gosavi, another witness in the case in the name of Wankhede, had demanded a bribe of 25 crores from Shahrukh Khan. However, this could not be confirmed. Despite this, the Vigilance team of NCB has started an investigation into this. Malik has termed the cruise drugs case as completely fake.
So far almost a week has passed. NCB officials are investigating the allegation against their officer, but they have neither called Ananya Pandey again nor raided anywhere else in the drugs case. If NCB sources are to be believed, Wankhede and his team have many leads, yet they are not taking action. After facing the infamy in the Aryan case, now the team of NCB is taking its step by blows.
Nothing happened in Riya case since last year
The Bollywood drugs case came to the fore after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput last year. Riya Chakraborty was arrested. Others including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan were also called for questioning, but nothing was achieved in the case. After that, this is the second major setback for NCB. There has been no update in the Riya cyclone case for the last year. Now the question is being raised whether that matter has gone into cold storage.
Ananya can get relief
NCB, which came on the back foot from Aryan's bail, will now take some action on Ananya's leaked chat, it is a big question. In the chats of Ananya that were leaked, she was talking to Aryan about the jugaad of charas and ganja. Despite receiving so many serious chats, Ananya has not been questioned yet.
Other star kids also seem to be getting relief.
After Aryan's arrest, there was talk of tightening the noose on some Bollywood star kids. There was talk of sending a producer's daughter, actress's sister, actor's daughter, and nephew to the summons, but suddenly that investigation also went into cold storage.
Senior officials are angry with the slander of NCB
If NCB sources are to be believed, some big NCB officials in Delhi are angry after the defamation of the department in this case. He has given strict instructions that unless there is strong evidence, no celebrity should be put on hand. This is the reason why NCB DDG Dnyaneshwar Singh while talking to the media had said that calling someone for questioning does not mean that he is accused or guilty. This statement of NCB is also a great example of his going on the backfoot.
