
Agra, March 13 (IANS) An engine got separated from its coaches here, disrupting railway traffic in the Agra division. This is the third such incident in the region in three days.
On Thursday morning, the Rajdhani Express from Ranchi to New Delhi was held up at the Shikohabad railway station after its engine got separated from the coaches, a railway official said Friday.
The train driver realised what had happened only after covering a few kilometres. The railways stopped several trains on the route.
Later in the afternoon, a goods train from Tundla in Uttar Pradesh headed for Alwar in Rajasthan split into two between Raibha and Bichpuri stations.
Divisional Railway Manager Sunil Sharma has ordered an inquiry.
On March 10, a Jalgaon-bound goods train also split near the Bhandai railway station, affecting rail traffic on the busy section for two hours.
