Shares of Adani Group flagship company Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) came under selling pressure on Thursday, falling more than 3% despite reporting strong Q1 FY27 earnings. While the company posted healthy growth in revenue, profit, and EBITDA, investors booked profits after the results, dragging the stock lower. Brokerage firm Motilal Oswal continues to remain bullish on the stock and has maintained its 'Buy' rating with a target price of ₹2,130.

Adani Ports shares opened at ₹1,726 and slipped to an intraday low of ₹1,662, marking a decline of over 3%. The stock has remained under pressure throughout July, falling nearly 8% from its recent high of ₹1,891.

 

Market experts believe the decline is largely due to profit booking after the recent rally, even though the company's financial performance remained robust.

 

Motilal Oswal Maintains 'Buy' Rating

 

Brokerage firm Motilal Oswal has reiterated its 'Buy' recommendation on Adani Ports with a target price of ₹2,130, indicating a potential upside of nearly 24% from current levels.

 

According to the brokerage:

 

Strong expansion in logistics and value-added services is expected to drive future growth.

Capacity additions across ports will support long-term earnings.

The company remains well-positioned to outperform overall industry growth.

Adani Ports Q1 FY27 Results: Key Highlights

 

Adani Ports reported solid financial performance for the quarter ended June 2026.

 

Financial Performance

Net Profit: ₹3,620.40 crore (up 9.2% YoY)

Revenue from Operations: ₹10,820.80 crore (up 18.6% YoY)

EBITDA: ₹6,541 crore (up 19% YoY)

EBITDA Margin: 60.4%, remaining largely stable.

 

The results highlight continued operational strength despite challenging market conditions.

 

Domestic Ports Continue Strong Growth

 

The company's domestic ports business delivered another impressive quarter.

 

Key Highlights:

 

Revenue increased 12% YoY

Growth supported by higher cargo volumes and improved product mix.

EBITDA grew 11% YoY.

EBITDA margin stood at 74%, among the highest in the port industry.

International Business Hits Record High

 

Adani Ports' international operations delivered their strongest quarterly performance ever.

 

International revenue jumped 80% YoY to ₹1,747 crore.

EBITDA surged 256% YoY to ₹730 crore.

 

The strong international performance significantly contributed to the company's overall earnings growth.

Although Adani Ports shares witnessed short-term selling after the Q1 results, the company's fundamentals remain strong. Growth in cargo volumes, expanding logistics operations, robust international business, and stable margins continue to support its long-term outlook.

 

With Motilal Oswal maintaining a 'Buy' rating and forecasting nearly 24% upside, long-term investors may continue to watch the stock closely while monitoring broader market sentiment and quarterly execution.
