Firing in Graduation Ceremony: A doctor opened fire on a university campus in Manila, 3 were killed including a former female mayor

On Sunday, his former student opened fire at a university in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Three people, including a former female mayor, died in the incident. The attacker was arrested while on the run. President Ferdinand Romádez Marcos has condemned the incident.

 

According to the police – the incident is at Manila University. It is here in the suburban city Quezon. Preliminary investigations suggest that it is a case of personal enmity. However, at the moment it cannot be said who exactly was the target of the accused.

There was a graduation ceremony at Manila University on Sunday. Apart from the students, their families also reached here. This university has two campuses. First- for medical students and second, for law faculty.

Quezon Mayor Joy Belmonte said the daughter of former Mayor Rose Fuergie is a law student here. Rose reached the campus with her colleague and security guard. During this, the attacker, who was hiding, opened fire. Furgy, his aide, and the security guard died on the spot. The daughter of the former mayor is injured.

According to the police, the name of the attacker is Dr. Chao Tiao Yumol. He is 38 years old. He did his graduation from the same university and currently, he practices privately. After arresting the accused, he was produced in the local court. The police have got his remand.

 

For the time being, the university is closed. The accused is being interrogated. Police said – such incidents do not happen in the Philippines. We are trying to find out what is the real reason behind this incident. At first glance, it seems that the attacker had enmity with someone.

 

The chief guest returned from the way

 

The Chief Justice of the Philippines, Alexandre Jesmundo, was the chief guest at the graduation ceremony. When this incident happened, the Chief Guest was on the way and was about to reach here shortly. He was contacted immediately after the incident. The University Management appealed to the Chief Justice to return, which he accepted.
