Foreign trips starting with Precaution

France, Germany, and the United States can now operate travel (movement and departure) to India amid recent travel restrictions. So far more than 60,000 citizens have returned to India from these countries.

Air France and United have already started booking for trips to India from Paris and Newark, while Lufthansa also plans to start booking after the government approved bilateral air travel with the three countries last week. Aviation companies of these countries operated flights for the return of European and American citizens but were not allowed to bring passengers to India. This situation changed after recent approval.

Like Air India, these airlines have to follow Indian regulations, share the passenger list with the Indian embassies and get clearance from states for inbound flights. Necessary restrictions have also been imposed on traveling to Europe or America. For example, Europe is not allowing travelers to come from India to spend holidays.

Except in some cases, an Indian passport holder cannot travel to the US on these flights via Frankfurt or Paris. Unlike the earlier normal situation, when airlines schedule a flight, only a limited number of flights are approved under the recent flight permit process. At present, Air France, Lufthansa, and United have been approved to operate flights only till the end of July.

An Air India official said, "There is a decrease in travel demand from the US. Only necessary trips are taking place and no one is traveling to rest. ' Most of the demand in the outbound sector is from green card holders or US citizens and it is expected that by August, students will also start traveling. A source said that in the case of Europe-India too, the demand is less than in April or May.

However, Lufthansa says that there is a huge demand for Indian customers both on and off and foreign airlines that intend to operate in India are currently assessing new rules and regulations issued by the Indian government for foreign airlines. Huh. Air India did not respond to questions related to the case.

More than 6,50,000 Indians have returned to India from May by flights of Air India, private and foreign airlines, naval ships and ground routes, etc. Air India has brought in over 200,000 citizens and half of them have come from West Asia. More than 60,000 citizens have returned from the US, Canada, and Europe. Air India has transported more than 80,000 people abroad from India, half of which were sent to the US and Canada.

Air India and United are operating additional flights between India and the United States after the US government withdrew its order on charges of discriminating India against its airline. Air India has also announced flights to France and Germany. The Indian government asks for the passenger details to be shared 4 days before any flight but in this case, United is exempted and according to the information, it can share these details only around the departure. Officials of foreign aviation companies say that sharing passenger details four days ago is quite cumbersome and the government can develop better ways of collecting data.

United will operate flights between Newark-Delhi from 23–28 July. The airline said that passengers going from the US to India would have to meet the Government of India's data collection requirement before check-in. The trip may be canceled if the required data collection is not completed.
