
Two minor tremors of earthquake were felt in Gujarat's Amreli district in the last 24 hours. This is the third incident of an earthquake in the area in the last two days. An official of the Institute of Earthquake Research (ISR) said that the magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 3.4 and 3.1.
District officials said that there was no report of loss of life or property due to the earthquake. According to an ISR official, an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 was felt in Mitiala village of Savarkundla taluka at 11.40 am on Friday. It was 43 km south-southeast of Amreli city. Earlier on Thursday at 11.35 pm, an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 was recorded in Khambha, 44 km south-southeast of the district headquarters.
Earlier on Thursday morning, a tremor of 3.1 magnitudes was recorded in Mitiala village, a Gandhinagar-based ISR official said. Its center was at a depth of 6.2 km.
