Rahul Gandhi has attacked the BJP over a large number of drug consignments being seized in Gujarat. He has said that a huge quantity of drugs is being recovered at the Mundra port of Gujarat, but even after this, there is no stopping it. He has questioned the functioning of the Gujarat government in this matter. Assembly elections are due in Gujarat later this year. Seeing the stand of Rahul Gandhi, it is believed that Congress can try to make drugs a big election issue in the Gujarat Assembly elections. The Congress, which was lagging behind the BJP by a very small margin in the last assembly elections, will try its best to win this election.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of drugs at a time when more than 42 people died due to drinking spurious liquor in the state itself in the last week. According to Rahul Gandhi, 3000 kg of drugs were caught in this port in September 2021, 56 kg in May 2022, and 75 kg in July 2022. The total value of these consignments of liquor is said to be around Rs 3,000 crore. On this issue, Congress has put the BJP in the dock, saying that the ministers and MLAs of the state government are indulging in the narcotic business of drugs, due to which such incidents are not being stopped.

Rahul Gandhi has said in a very sharp manner that BJP should tell who those people sitting in the double engine government of the Center and the state are giving protection to the drug mafia. Why is it not being stopped even after the seizure of drugs from the same port again and again? He has asked why Gujarat is being pushed into the quagmire of drugs.

Rahul has also got the full support of his sister Priyanka Gandhi on this issue. Priyanka Gandhi has also questioned on Twitter why government agencies are silent in the matter of seizure of drugs in Gujarat. He has asked how the drug mafia in the state can do this illegal business so openly.

How can it affect BJP?

The most negative effect of the use of drugs and intoxicants has been in the Surat city of Gujarat and its surrounding areas. Most people have died here due to the consumption of spurious liquor. Apart from this, youth are also in the grip of drugs in the tribal areas of the state. People's families are getting ruined by this. The Surat region is considered to be the area of BJP's influence. There is a plurality of workers from UP-Bihar and till now the BJP has a strong hold among them. BJP has been getting maximum support from this area.

But a large number of migrant workers have died due to alcohol. This angers the people. It is believed that this may harm the BJP. Since the Aam Aadmi Party is continuously getting stronger in this area and it is trying to make the deaths due to spurious liquor a big issue, it is believed that it can become a big issue in the elections.

the public has made a big issue

Senior Gujarat Congress leader Madhusudan Mistry told Amar Ujala that drug addiction is emerging as a big issue among the people of Gujarat. People's loved ones are dying because of alcohol. He has directly alleged that some ministers and MLAs of the state government are themselves involved in the drug business, due to which the police are not able to curb the drug business. He said that there is huge resentment among the people and they want to seek answers from the government on this, but the government is ignoring the questions of the people. People will express their anger during elections.
